Baked Stuffed Peppers

Ingredients

  • 6 green peppers
  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 3 cups cooked rice
  • 1 tsp. each onion powder and thyme
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (10 1/2 oz.) beef gravy

Directions

  1. Cut a thin slice from stem end of peppers. Remove seeds and ribs. Precook peppers in boiling water for 3 minutes; drain.

  2. Combine meat, rice, seasonings and egg. Mix tomato sauce and gravy; add 1 cup tomato-rice mixture. Stuff peppers.

  3. Place in shallow baking dish. Pour remaining tomato sauce mixture around peppers. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
