Beef Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 cup soft bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3/4 lb. ground beef
  • 1 beaten egg
  • onion
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 Tbsp. catsup
  • 3 Tbsp. margarine or butter
  • 1 cup strained tomatoes
  • 1 1/2 cup whole kernel corn, drained
  • 1/2 tsp. basil
  • parsley

Directions

  1. Soften bread crumbs in milk; add ground beef, egg, 2 Tbsp. grated onion, 1 tsp. salt, Worcestershire sauce and catsup.

  2. Mix well; line bottom and sides of 10-inch pie pan with beef mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.

  3. Cook 1/4 cup chopped onion in butter until golden, stirring frequently. Add tomatoes, corn, remaining salt and basil; simmer for 10 minutes. Fill meat crust with hot corn mixture and continue baking dfor 5 minutres; garnish with parsley.
