Banana Bavarian Cream

Ingredients

  • 1 96 oz.) pkg. lemon-flavored gelatin
  • 2 cups hot water
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 5 bananas
  • Strawberry Sauce:
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 egg white
  • 2/3 cup strawberries

Directions

  1. Dissolve gelatin in hot water. Add salt and sugar. Chill until cold and syrupy.

  2. Fold in cream, whipped only until thick and shiny, but not stiff. Crush bananas to pulp with fork, and fold at once into mixture. Chill until slightly thickened.

  3. Turn into mold. Chill until firm. Unmold. Serve with Strawberry sauce.

  4. Strawberry Sauce:

  5. Cream butter and sugar, gradually add crushed strawberries and egg whites. Beat well.
