Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tsp. grated lemon rind
- 1 Tbsp. orange juice
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/4 cups sifted cake flour
- 3/4 cup pecans, finely chopped
- 18 candied cherries, halved
Directions

Cream together butter and sugar; beat until light and fluffy. Add egg yolk, lemon rind, lemon juice, orange juice and vanilla; beat well. Gradually blend in flour; chill.

Roll into 1-inch balls, roll in nuts and place on buttered baking sheet. Press cherry half in center.

Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes; remove to wire rack to cool.
