Barbecue Meatloaf

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1/2 lb. ground pork
  • 1/2 lb. ground turkey
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 tsp. dried basil
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped mushrooms OR 1/4 cup shredded carrots
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. fresh ground black pepper
  • 1 clove garlic, peeled and minced3 slices white bread, processed into crumbs in a food processor
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 375 degrees.

  2. In a large bowl, gently, yet thoroughly combined meats, milk, basil, Worcestershire sauce, onion, mushrooms, salt, black pepper, garlic, bread crumbs and egg. Transfer mixture to a 5 × 9-inch ungreased loaf pan or divide mixture between muffin tins. Spread barbecue sauce over top.

  3. For individual meatloaves, bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until internal temperature reaches 160 degrees. For large loaf, bake at 375 degrees for 90 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 160 degrees. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
