Ingredients
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
- 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 5 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 (1-inch) piece fresh ginger root, grated
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. turmeric
- 1 tsp. paprika
- 1/4 tsp. ground cardamom
- 1/4 tsp. ground red pepper
- 20 raw medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 20 wooden skewers or toothpicks soaked in cold water

to make marinade: Combine yogurt, lemon juice, garlic, ginger salt and spices in a nonmetallic bowl. Add shrimp and toss in marinade to coat each one well. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour. Thread 1 shrimp on each soaked skewer.

To make shrimp sticks: Heat broiler. Heat a ridged cast-iron griddle grill pan or barbecue. Broil shrimp until they turn pink and lost their transparency, 3 minutes on each side. Sere hot, warm or at room temperature.
