Chinese Pepper Steak

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. minute steaks, cut into strips
  • 2 tbsp. coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 cup sliced green or red bell peppers
  • 1/2 tsp Chinese 5 spice
  • 1 tsp. freshly grated ginger
  • 1/2 cup homemade chicken or beef stock
  • 2 tbsp. coconut aminos

Directions

  1. Heat oil over medium-high heat in a large skillet. Add meat and saute until browned, about 1 minute.

  2. Stir in onions, garlic, mushrooms, and peppers. Cook until tender, about 12 minutes.

  3. Sprinkle in 5 spice and ginger. Add stock and aminos. Stir well.

  4. Bring to a boil. Turn heat to medium and simmer, uncovered, about 3-4 minutes or until sauce has thickened a bit. Serve!
