Base Camp Supper: Gratin Dauphioise with Cabbage

Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 2 oz. minced bacon
- 1 cup minced onion
- 1/2 head green cabbage, shredded
- 1 1/2 lbs. potatoes, sliced very thin
- 1/2 lb. Gruyere, shredded
Directions

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Heat the butter and bacon in a large pan. Add onion and cook for 10 minutes. Add cabbage and cook for 15 minutes, until cabbage is well wilted.

In a large greased casserole, lay the potatoes, cabbage mixture and cheese in at least 4 alternating layers. Top with bread crumbs. Bale for 1 hour.
