Basic American- Style Pizza Crust

Ingredients
- 2 1/2 tsp. active dry yeast
- 1 tsp. brown sugar
- 2/3 cup warm water
- 1/2 cup cold milk
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil, plus more for coating
- 3 1/2 to 4 cups bread flour, divided use
Directions

In a medium bowl, stir together the yeast, sugar and warm water. Let stand 5 minutes. Stir in cold milk, salt and olive oil. One cup at a time, stir in 3 cups of the flour, mixing well after each addition.

turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead 5 to 8 minutes, adding small amounts of flour (add flour to your hands, not the dough) as necessary to keep the dough manageable.

Lightly oil a medium bowl, place dough in bowl, turn to coat dough with oil and cover with plastic wrap and let rise at room temperature for two hours or in the refrigerator overnight.

Divide dough into two or three portions and shape into rounds.

Top the crusts with sauce, your choice of meat, cheeses and vegetables and back on

pizza stone in a 450 degree oven for 20 minutes or until crust browns on edges and cheese melts.
