Ingredients
- 2/3 cup butter or margarine
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1 1/2 cups chopped celery
- 10 cups day-old soft bread cubes
- 1 Tbsp. dried parsley flakes
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. rubbed sage
- 1/4 tsp. poultry seasoning
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
Directions

Place butter, onion and celery in 3-quart glass casserole.

Microwave for 4 to 5 minutes on high, or until vegetables are partly cooked. Stir in remaining ingredients; mix well. Stuff poultry.

Microwave a casserole stuffing by blending 3/4 to 1 cup chicken broth into basic recipe ingredients. Place in buttered 2-qaurt glass baking dish or casserole. Cover with glass lid or wax paper. Microwave for 12 to 15 minutes, on simmer, or until hot (about 160 degrees). Let stand, covered, 5 minutes before serving.

Variations:

Decrease onion to 1/4 cup and celery to 1 cup. Add 1 cup chopped prunes and 1/2 cup slivered almonds to basic recipe.

If stuffing a goose, decrease butter to 14 cup.

Add 1 pkg. (12 oz.) bulk pork sausage, cooked and crumbled, and 1 small apple, chopped.
