Barbecued Beef-on-a-Bun

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 lb. top round steak
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup chili sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. paprika
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 small clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp. prepared horseradish
  • 1 Tbsp. instant minced onion
  • 1/4 tsp. hot pepper sauce
  • 6 heated buns

Directions

  1. In 2 1/2 quart microwave casserole dish, cook butter on high 1 minute or until melted.

  2. Cut round steak across grain in very thin strips. Stir into melted butter to coat meat. Cook, covered, on high 4 to 5 minutes, or until meat is no longer pink, stirring twice during cooking.

  3. Dissolve cornstarch in broth and lemon juice. Add to meat. Add all other ingredients, except buns. Stir. Cook on low 10 minutes stirring once during cooking. Let stand 2 minutes before serving on heated buns.
