Basil Butter

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups loosely packed fresh basil leaves
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 tsp. seasoned pepper
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. garlic salt

Directions

  1. Place basil in a food processor; pulse until chopped. Add remaining ingredients. Process until blended.

  2. Transfer to a sheet of plastic wrap; shape into a log. Refrigerate up to 1 week or wrap securely and freeze.

  3. Use to saute vegetables, tossed in pasta or on top of grilled meat or spread on bread.

  4. makes 1 cup
