Ingredients
- 2 1/2 to 3 lbs. ground chuck
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 cup onion, minced
- 1 Tbsp. garlic powder
- 1 large bay leaf
- 1 Tsp. oregano
- 3 Tbsp. chili powder
- 1 tsp. cumin
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 1 Tbsp. paprika
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 Tbsp. flour
- 1 large can diced tomatoes
- 2 cups water
- 2 tsp. chicken bouillon or Tone's chicken base
- 2 tsp. sugar
- 6 saltine crackers, crushed
Directions

Cook beef in olive oil until the pink is gone and then add spices. Put lid on and simmer for 5 minutes. Add flour and stir. Add tomatoes, water and bouillon; cover and simmer 30 minutes. Add sugar and crackers, simmer 10 minutes more.
