Ingredients
- 2 large cloves garlic, lightly crushed
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 4 cups water
- 2/3 cup fine stale bread crumbs, toasted
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 eggs, slightly beaten
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions

In a small heavy skillet, saute garlic in oil over moderately high heat until golden brown. Remove and discard garlic; keep oil warm.

In a saucepan, bring water to a boil and stir in the toasted bread crumbs, oil, and salt. Remove the pan from the heat; whisk in the eggs. Season with salt and pepper. Ladle into heated bowls.
