Ingredients
- 1 cup corn meal
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 beaten egg
- 1 1/4 cups buttermilk
Directions

Sift together dry ingredients. Add beaten egg and buttermilk to dry ingredients, beating until smooth.

Pour one tablespoon of batter for each cake onto a well-greased iron skillet.

Bake until brown, turning once. (If batter gets too thick, add a little more buttermilk.) Serve with honey or maple syrup.
