Awesome Scones

Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 stick butter, cut into pieces
- 1 cup fruit of choice (dried cranberries, dried apricots, blueberries, or blackberries)
- 1 cup buttermilk
- Icing:
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. almond extract
- 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar

Spray cookie sheet with nonstick spray. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

Mix flour, baking powder and soda in a large bowl. Stir in oats. Using a pastry blender, cut in butter until coarse crumbs. Add fruit, then stir in buttermilk to make soft dough.

Turn out onto lightly floured surface. Roll out and cut with a biscuit cutter, or buy hand, to make about 1 dozen. Bake for 15 minutes.

Immediately top with icing when out of oven.

To make icing:

Mix together the butter, vanilla, almond extract, cream cheese, and one cup at a time of the powdered sugar, until stiff spreading consistency using a whisk.
