Strawberry Shortcake

basically biscuit dough—can be used for that too

Serves 4 people

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/8 - 1/4 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • strawberries, cut up
  • milk, to taste

Directions

  1. eheat oven to 450.

  2. Sift flour before measuring.

  3. Resift with all dry ingredients.

  4. Cut in butter.

  5. Add milk and stir.

  6. Knead dough on floured board for 1/2 minute.

  7. Bake for 10-20 minutes.

  8. Break off chunks of dough, add strawberries and milk.
