Ingredients
- 1 egg beaten
- 1/4 C sugar
- pinch of salt
- 1/2 C molasses with rounded t baking soda
- 1/3 C hot water
- 1 1/2 C flour
- 1 1/2 C cranberries cut in half
- Sauce:
- 1 C sugar
- 1 T flour
- 1/2 C butter
- 1 C cream
- vanilla or rum for flavor
- Large batch:
- 4 lb sugar
- 2 qt cream
- 2 lb butter
- 1/2 C flour
Directions

beat egg first

add rest of ingredients

put in 2 16oz cans (about 3/4 full)

steam 1 1/2 hours

sauce: melt butter, add flour, stir, add sugar and then cream—do not boil—remove from heat and add flavor
