Pie Crust

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup plus 1 Tbsp shortening
  • 2-3 Tbsp cold water

Directions

  1. Mix flour and salt; cut in shortening using pastry blender (or 2 criscrossing knives).

  2. Sprinkle with cold water 1 Tbsp at a time, tossing with fork until all flour is moistened and pastry leaves side of bowl (1-2 Tbsp more water can be used if necessary).

  3. Don’t scimp on the shortening – it’s the key.
