Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/3 cup plus 1 Tbsp shortening
- 2-3 Tbsp cold water
Directions

Mix flour and salt; cut in shortening using pastry blender (or 2 criscrossing knives).

Sprinkle with cold water 1 Tbsp at a time, tossing with fork until all flour is moistened and pastry leaves side of bowl (1-2 Tbsp more water can be used if necessary).

Don’t scimp on the shortening – it’s the key.
