Hamburger Pie

Ingredients

  • Crust:
  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1egg
  • 1/4 c dry bread crumbs
  • 1 T soy sauce
  • 1 t dry mustard
  • 1/4 t ground cumin
  • 1/8 t garlic powder
  • Filling:
  • 1 1/2 C sliced potatoes (1/8 in thick)
  • 3/4 C sliced onion, separated into rings
  • 1 C sliced mushrooms
  • Topping:
  • 1 shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 1/2 C shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1 1/2 parsley flakes

Directions

  1. Combine all crust ingredients and mix well. Press into 9-in pie pan. Microwave at High 3 to 5 minutes or until meat is set (some pink may remain), rotating once or twice during cooking. Drain.

  2. Top the meat with layer of potato slices; follow with onions, and then mushrooms. Cover with plastic wrap. Microwave at High 41/2 to 8 1/2 minutes or until potatoes in center are fork tender, rotating once during cooking.

  3. Reduce power to 50%. Sprinkle with cheeses and parsley. Microwave, uncovered, 2 to 5 minutes or until cheese melts. Let stand 2 to 3 minutes before serving.

  4. Sometimes when I don’t have the Swiss cheese, I just use all cheddar. It’s still great.
