Ingredients
- 1/2 lb. flank or other steak, cut in slices 1/4 inch thick and 2 inches long
- 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 tsp. dry sherry
- 1 1/2 tsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 lb. green beans, partially cooked
- 4 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. MSG (optional)
Directions

Mix first 5 ingredients and set aside. Break or cut beans in 2 or 3 pieces, wash and drain very well.

Put 2 Tbsp. oil in hot skillet over high heat. Add the beef mixture and cook, stirring, 1 minute. (If pork is used, increase time to 2 to 3 minutes). Remove meat.

Add remaining oil to skillet with the drippings. A beans and 1/2 cup water ad bring to a boil. Cover and cook over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally and adding more water id necessary, 10 minutes or until beans are of desired tenderness. Add remaining ingredients and beef, mix well and serve at once.
