Beef Italiano

Ingredients

  • 1 boneless chuck (3 1/2 lb.)
  • 1 cup sliced onion
  • 1 large clove garlic, minces
  • 2 tsp. oregano, crushed
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 can tomato soup

Directions

  1. Trim fat from meat. Roast at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hour. Spoon off fat.

  2. In pan, cook onion with garlic and oregano in butter until tender. Stir in soup, 1 cup water, generous dash pepper.

  3. Pour over meat. Cover; bake 1 1/2 hour more or until tender. Thicken sauce if desired.
