pork/ sauerkraut

Ingredients

  • Pork loin
  • Oil
  • chicken broth
  • onion diced-sauted in oil with garlic clove added last 20 seconds
  • 1 clove garlic diced
  • 1 T brown sugar
  • 2 lb bag sauerkraut

Directions

  1. Brown pork in oil-salt and peppered

  2. Add chicken broth

  3. In dutch oven cook covered (3-4 lb pork takes about 4-5 hours)

  4. (1 1/2 lb pork takes 2-21/2 hours)

  5. LAST 1-1 1/2 hours add sauerkraut with onion, garlic and brown sugar

  6. Add more chicken broth as needed

  7. Good served with mashed potatoes or can cook potatoes in broth when add sauerkraut
