Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb. beef shoulder roast
- 1/2 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. MSG
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup beef broth or water
- 1/2 8 oz. can tomato sauce
- 1 medium carrot, chopped
- 1 medium stalk celery, chopped
- 1 4 oz. can mushrooms, drained

Lightly rinse meat. Scrape off unwanted surface skin and trim off fat; cut into 2 inch cubes. Brown on small amount of fat over medium-high heat.

Add onion and cook, stirring, until yellow. Add all remaining ingredients except mushrooms; slowly simmer for 2 hours or until tender. Add mushrooms 15 minutes before serving.
