Beef Stew

Serves 6 people

Ingredients

  • 2 lb. round steak
  • 1Tbsp. fat
  • 1 quart hot water
  • 2 cups diced potatoes
  • 1 cup diced turnips
  • 1 cup diced carrots
  • 1/2 cup diced parsnips
  • 1 cup diced celery
  • 1 green pepper, diced
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 2 beef bouillon cubes

Directions

  1. Roll meat in seasoned flour. Brown thoroughly in hot fat. Cover with hot water. Simmer 2 hours- adding water if needed.

  2. Add remaining ingredients. Cook until vegetables are tender, about 30 minutes.
