Cheese Fondue

Ingredients

  • 1 garlic clove, halved
  • 8 oz. grated gruyere
  • 8 oz. grated emmentaler cheese
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 cup dry white wine
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • Freshly grated nutmeg
  • Black pepper

Directions

  1. Rub the inside of a fondue pot with the cut sides of the garlic. Toss cheeses with cornstarch. Bring wine to a simmer in a medium saucepan. Gradually whisk in the cheeses until melted and smooth, then stir in lemon juice and season with nutmeg and pepper. Serve in the fondue pot.
