Classic Tomatillo Salsa

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. whole tomatillos (husked and rinsed)
  • 3 unpeeled garlic cloves
  • 1 whole jalapeno
  • 1 cup fresh cilantro
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Salt

Directions

  1. Broil tomatillos, garlic cloves, and jalapeno until charred and tender, 5-6 minutes. Let cool slightly; peel the garlic and remove the stem and skin from the jalapeno. Puree the tomatillos, garlic and jalapeno in a food processor with cilantro and lime juice. Season with salt.
