Categories: Chicken
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp kosher salt, plus more for sprinkling
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups Cap'n Crunch cereal
- 12 chicken tenders or strips
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- Ketchup, for serving
Directions
-
In a pie plate or shallow dish, mix the flour, salt and pepper. In another bowl, lightly whisk the eggs. Finally, pour the cereal into a third dish and crush it until you have fine crumbs plus some large chunks.
-
Dip the chicken first in the flour, then in the egg, then in the cereal. Keep going until all the chicken is breaded.
-
In a large skillet, heat 1/4 inch of vegetable oil over medium heat. Add half the chicken strips and cook them until they’re golden brown and cooked through, about 3 minutes per side. Watch them so they don’t burn!
-
Drain them on paper towels and sprinkle with salt. Finish cooking the rest of the chicken. Serve with ketchup.
