Ingredients
- 2 1/2 C flour
- 1/2 C sugar
- 2t caraway seed
- 1 1/2 t baking powder
- 1/2 t baking soda
- 1t ground cinnamon
- 1/2t salt
- 1/2C raisins or currants
- 1 1/4 C buttermilk
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 t vanilla
Directions

Preheat oven to 350F

Lightly grease 9" round cake pan

Mix flour, sugar, caraway seed, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and salt

in large bowl

Stir in raisins

Mix buttermilk, eggs and vanilla and stir into dry ingredients

Spread in prepared pan

Bake 45 to 50 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean

Cool in pan on wire rack for 10 minutes

Remove from pan

Cool completely on wire rack
