Sesame tofu w/spinach

Cook time: 20 minutes
Serves 4 people

Ingredients

  • 1 cake firm tofu
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds
  • 2 Tbs dark sesame oil
  • 2 Tbs soy sauce
  • A few drops Tabasco/hot sauce
  • 2 tsp oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 10 oz spinach, rinsed
  • salt & pepper

Directions

  1. Slice tofu lengthwise into 4 rectangular slabs. Then slice slabs in half to make 8 roughly square pieces. Spread sesame seeds on a plate, and press tofu into seeds.

  2. Heat sesame oil in large skillet- med heat. Arrange tofu in single layer, cook 5 mins.

  3. Flip & cook another 5 mins.

  4. Add soy sauce & hot sauce, flip tofu, and cook another minute, until most of liquid absorbed.

  5. Transfer tofu to a plate.

  6. Add oil & garlic, saute 30 seconds, until golden.

  7. Add damp spinach, cook for a minute or two, stirring.

  8. Season w/salt & pepper.
