Ingredients
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- 3/4 cup sugar, divided
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose baking mix
- 1 1/2 cups hot water
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Hot Chocolate Sauce (see recipe)
Directions

In a Dutch oven, pour oil to a depth of 2 inches and heat over medium heat until a deep-fry thermometer registers 350.

In a shallow dish, whisk together 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon.

In a large bowl, whisk together baking mix and remaining 1/4 cup sugar; stir in 1 1/2 cups hot water and vanilla until a dough forms. Transfer dough to a pastry bag fitted with a 1/4-inch star tip.

Carefully pipe 4-5-inch long pieces of dough into hot oil in batches, cutting dough with a knife or scissors between each piece. Fry, turning frequently, until golden brown, 2-3 minutes. Let drain on a wire rack. Roll warm churros in cinnamon sugar to fully coat. Serve immediately with Hot Chocolate Sauce.
