Dark Chocolate Shortbread with Fleur de Sel

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon fleur de sel (course grained salt)
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate, cut into small pieces

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.

  3. Cream butter and sugar together.

  4. Mix flour, cornstarch, and salt in a separate bowl.

  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet.

  6. Mix well.

  7. Add chocolate.

  8. Fold mixture.

  9. Shape the cookies as you choose.

  10. Place on baking sheet, without at least one inch space in between.

  11. Place baking sheet in refrigerator.

  12. Chill for at least 30 minutes.

  13. Remove from refrigerator.

  14. Bake for 8 – 14 minutes, just until the edges begin to brown.

  15. Remove from oven.

  16. Allow to cool.
