Ingredients
- 4 tsp flour
- 1 1/2 tsp dried basil
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3 tbsp. butter
- 4 pork chops, trimmed of excess fat
- 1 tsp Montreal steak seasoning, or to taste
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup milk
Directions
-
Mix together flour, basil, and salt in a bowl.
-
Melt 2 tbsp. butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Sprinkle chops all over with steak seasoning; cook 7 to 10 minutes per side, or until browned but slightly pink in center. Add remaining 1 tbsp. butter as needed so that about 3 tbsp. drippings remain in skillet when chops are done. Transfer chops to a plate.
-
Increase heat to medium-high, stir pepper into skillet with drippings, and cook 1 minute. Stir in flour mixture; continue cooking, stirring constantly, until browned, about 2 minutes. Add milk; cook, stirring constantly, until mixture is thick and bubbly, 4-6 minutes. Pour sauce over chops to serve.
