Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup confectioners' sugar
- 2 tsp kosher salt
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- White chocolate melting wafers, melted according to package directions
- White pearl nonpareils
Directions
-
In a large bowl, beat butter with a mixer at medium speed until smooth. Add confectioners’ sugar, salt and vanilla, and increase speed to medium-high; beat until creamy, about 2 minutes. Add flour in two additions, beating just until combined. Add pecans, beating just until combined. Turn out dough, and shape into a disk. Wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate until firm, about 2 hours.
-
Preheat oven to 325. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
-
On a lightly floured surface, roll dough to 1/2-inch thickness. Using a 4-inch Christmas tree cutter, cut dough, rerolling scraps as necessary. Place 1 1/2 inches apart on prepared pans.
-
Bake until edges are lightly browned, about 18 minutes. Let cool completely on wire racks.
-
Pipe melted white chocolate onto cookies to resemble garland and sprinkle with nonpareils, gently shaking off excess. Let stand until chocolate has set.
