Children’s Quick Bisi Bele Bath

Not the original – but damn speedy and mild in flavor

Serves 6 people
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Rice
- 3/4 Cup Toor Dal
- 1 Cup Mixed Veg, chopped
- 4 Cup Water
- 3 T Coriander, ground
- 2 Dried Red Chilies (or to taste)
- 2 T Coconut
- 1 t Tamarind
- Salt
- 1/4 t Mustard Seeds
- 1/2 t Chana Dhal
- Asafetida, dash
- 1/2 t Urudhal
- 4 Curry Leaves
- 1 T Nuts, Cashew or Peanut (optional)
- Oil
- Ghee
Directions

Place rice, toor dhal, vegetables in pressure cooker or InstaPot with 4 cups water. Cook on rice setting.

Dry roast coriander, red chilies, coconut.

Blend roasted ingredients with a little water to make paste.

Add paste to cooked rice.

Stir in tamarind and salt.

Ogerne: Pop mustard seeds in oil, add curry leaves and asafetida. Add to rice.

Heat nuts, Chana and Urudhal in ghee. Add to rice.

Mix well and serve with Ghee.
