Ingredients
- 9 slices thick-cut bacon
- 16 oz. package spicy ground breakfast sausage
- 1 cup chopped yellow onion
- 1 cup chopped red bell pepper
- 2 (15 oz.) cans pork and beans
- 2 (15 oz.) cans navy beans
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 3/4 cup ketchup
- 3 tbsp. Worcestershire
- 2 tbsp. light brown sugar
- 2 tbsp. stone-ground mustard
- 1 tbsp. soy sauce
Directions
-
Preheat oven to 400. Spray an 11×7-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
-
Place bacon on a large rimmed baking sheet; bake for 8 minutes. Leave oven on.
-
Meanwhile, in a large skillet, cook sausage, onion, and bell pepper over medium heat until sausage is browned and crumbly and vegetables are tender. Stir in all beans, barbecue sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire, brown sugar, mustard and soy sauce; cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes. Pour mixture into prepared dish. Arrange partially cooked bacon on top of beans in a lattice design.

Bake until mixture is thick and bubbly, about 40 minutes. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
