Ingredients
- 2 tbsp. vegetable oil
- 3 cups chopped Vidalia onion
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1 tbsp. minced garlic
- 1 1/4 cups sour cream
- 1 cup mayo
- 1 tbsp. chopped fresh chives
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Garnish: chopped fresh chives
Directions

In a large stainless-steel skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add onion and salt; cook, stirring frequently, until caramelized, 15-20 minutes. Add garlic; cook, stirring frequently, until fragrant and softened, 2 to 3 minutes. Let cool completely.

In a medium bowl, stir together onion mixture, sour cream, mayo, chives, garlic powder and pepper until well combined. Garnish with chives. Cover and refrigerate for up to 5 days.
