Buttermilk Bisquits

Ingredients
- 2 C flour
- 1/2 t salt
- 2 t baking powder
- 1/2 t baking soda
- 1/2 C shortening
- 2/3 C buttermilk
Directions

Place flour in medium mixing bowl and stir in salt, baking powder,and baking soda.

Add the shortening and break it up using a pastry cutter or 2 knives until pieces are the size of peas.

Pour in almost all of the buttermilk. Add the rest if needed when mixing all together. Use a fork or handle of wooden spoon to stir until dough sticks together and clears sides.

Turn out dough on floured surface and knead 8-10 times.

Roll out to 1/2 inch thick and cut with 2 1/2 inch cutter. Don’t twist cutter.

Transfer bisquits to ungreased baking sheet. Bake @ 425 degrees F for 12 mins.
