Categories: Pork
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper
- Pinch black pepper, or to taste
- 4 center-cut pork chops
- 1 large onion, cut into 1/2-inch-thick slices
- 2 tbsp. canola oil
Directions
-
Arrange coals on one side of a charcoal grill. Preheat to high heat. Lightly oil grate.
-
Stir together honey, soy sauce, red pepper and black pepper in a bowl. Pour about 1/3 cup into a small bowl; set aside. Pat pork dry with paper towels. Brush both sides of pork and onion with oil.
-
Grill pork directly over coals until lightly charred, about 3 minutes per side. Move pork to cooler side of grill and continue cooking, brushing both sides generously with honey mixture, 3 to 4 minutes more, or until cooked through.
-
Meanwhile, arrange onion slices over cooler side of grill. Grill, brushing onions periodically with reserved honey mixture, until translucent and browned, 3 to 4 minutes per side. Transfer pork and onions to serving plates; drizzle with remaining reserved honey mixture.
