One-pot spaghetti

Serves 9 people

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground meat
  • 6 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cups water
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 4 (28 ounce) jars traditional style spaghetti sauce
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2.5 lbs uncooked thin or regular spaghetti, broken into thirds
  • parmesan cheese or shredded cheese (for serving)

Directions

  1. 1 Brown meat with garlic, pepper, and onion. Drain if needed.

  2. 2 Stir in water, broth, spaghetti sauce, salt, sugar, pepper flakes. Stir in spaghetti. Bring to a boil, stirring often to keep noodles from sticking together.

  3. 3 Boil/simmer 15 minutes or until spaghetti is cooked through, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.

  4. 4 Serve with Parmesan cheese or shredded cheese.
