Ingredients
- 2 lbs stewing beef
- 2 tbs oil
- 1/4 c bacon, diced
- 2 carrots sliced
- 2 garluic cloves, minced
- 3 c mushrooms, sliced
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1/4 tsp dried thyme
- 3/4 c beer
- 2 tbs tomato paste
- 2 tbs flour
Directions

Heat 1/2 theoil in large skillet and brown beef. Transfer to slow cooker. Add bacon to skillet and fry to crisp. Transfwer to slow cooker. Drain fat from skillet. In same skillet heat remaining oil and fry carrots, onions garlic, mushroooms , salt peper and thyme. Add beer, stirrin g ans d scraping up bits. Add to slow cooker. Add beef broth and paste to slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours. Skim fat from liquid. Whisk flour with 1/4 c cold water then whisk the mixture into the slow xcooker.Cover and cook on high for 15 minutes.
