Apple Cider Oatmeal with Sauteed Apples

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups apple cider
  • 1/2 tsp Chinese five-spice powder
  • 2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 2 apples, cored and sliced
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 1/2 cup toasted chopped pecans

Directions

  1. In a saucepan, bring cider, 1 cup water, five-spice powder, and 1/4 tsp salt to boil. Stir in oats; cook over medium heat until tender, 5 minutes. In skillet, cook apples in butter over medium heat until golden, 5 minutes. Top oatmeal with apples and pecans.
