St. Louis Toasted Ravioli

Ingredients

  • 9 oz. pkg. frozen beef or cheese ravioli
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup shredded Parmesan
  • 2 tsp dried basil
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • Oil, for frying
  • Minced fresh basil
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Marinara sauce, for serving

Directions

  1. Thaw ravioli. In a shallow bowl, mix bread crumbs, Parmesan and dried basil. Place flour and eggs in separate shallow bowls. Dip ravioli in flour to coat; shake off excess. Dip in egg, then in crumb mixture, patting to help coating adhere. In a large electric or cast-iron skillet, heat 1/2 inch of oil to 375. Fry ravioli, a few at a time, until golden brown, 1-2 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with fresh basil and Parmesan. Serve warm with marinara.
