Ingredients
- 2 large eggs, room temp
- 4 cups milk
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tbsp. ground cinnamon
- 1 tbsp. vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 2 loaves (1 lb. each) day-old Italian bread, cut into 1-inch pieces
- Streusel:
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 3 tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 3 tbsp. unsalted butter, softened
- Sweetened whipped cream

Preheat oven to 350. In a large bowl, whisk the first 7 ingredients until blended. Gently stir in bread; let stand until bread is softened, about 15 minutes.

Transfer to 2 greased 13×9-inch baking dishes. Bake until puffed and golden and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean, 30 to 35 minutes. In a small bowl, mix streusel ingredients; sprinkle over the tops. Bake until golden brown, about 5 minutes longer.

Serve warm, with sweetened whipping cream.
