no fail pie crust

makes double crust for 9 inch pie

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 2 tea sugar
  • 1/2 salt
  • 5 table cold unsalted butter
  • 3 1/2 table cold shortening
  • 1/4 cup ice water

Directions

  1. combine flour, sugar and salt in large mixing bowl

  2. use pastry blender to cut butter and shortening into the flour mix til crumbly

  3. add ice water 1 tablespoon at a time til dough forms into a ball

  4. wrap the dough in waxed paper and frig at least 1 hour before rolling out
