Ingredients

  • 2 qts tomato puree
  • 1 1/3 cup vinegar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tea whole allspice
  • 2 sticks cinnamon
  • 1 tea whole cloves
  • 1 1/2 tea paprika
  • 1 tea onion powder
  • 1 tea dry mustard
  • 1 tea salt
  • 1/4 tea cayenne pepper

Directions

  1. mix puree, vinegar, sugar in sauce pot

  2. tie whole spice in a cheesecloth bag

  3. add to mix

  4. add remaining ingredient and cook slowly til as thick as you want

  5. 45-60 min

  6. stir frequently to prevent sticking

  7. remove spice bag

  8. pour hot mix into hot jars leave 1/4 inch head space

  9. adjust caps

  10. process 15 min in boiling water bath
