Ingredients

  • 8 slices thick-cut bacon, chopped
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 1/4 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire
  • 1 tsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 lbs. green beans, trimmed

  • 1 tbsp. chopped fresh thyme
  • Garnish: chopped fresh thyme

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350.

  2. In a large skillet, cook bacon over medium-high heat until almost crisp, about 8 minutes. Remove using a slotted spoon, and let drain on paper towels, reserving 2 tbsp. drippings.

  3. In a large bowl, whisk together reserved drippings, brown sugar, salt, Worcestershire, vinegar and pepper until smooth. Stir in green beans, garlic, thyme, and cooked bacon until coated. Spread in even layer on a large rimmed baking sheet.

  4. Bake until beans are tender, about 20 minutes. Garnish with thyme. Serve immediately.
