Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 cup corn meal
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup raisins
- 1 1/4 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1/4 cup oil
Directions

In large bowl, combine dry ingredients and raisins.

In separate bowl, combine buttermilk, molasses and oil. Stir into dry ingredients, mixing thoroughl. spoon into 3 well greased coffee cans. Cover with foil and secure with string or bands. Set on rack in large pot an d add boiling water to reach half way up cans. Cover and steam 1 1/2 hours. Add water as necessary to maintain level.
