Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 1 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup boiling water
- 3/4 cup Dutch-process cocoa powder
- 2 cups granulate sugar
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 2 eggs, room temp
- 1 tbsp. vanilla
Directions

eheat the oven to 350. Butter a 9×13-inch baking pan. Dust the bottom and sides of the pan with cocoa powder.

Whisk flour, baking soda, salt and baking powder in a bowl.

Pour boiling water over cocoa powder in a separate bowl; whisk until smooth. Let cool 10 minutes, then whisk in sugar, vegetable oil, buttermilk, eggs and vanilla. Whisk in the flour mixture in two batches until smooth.

Spread the batter in the prepared pan and tap on the counter to release any bubbles. Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, 35-45 minutes. Transfer to a rack and let cool completely in the pan before frosting.
