Ingredients

• 4 bacon slices, chopped
• 1 tbsp. vegetable oil
• 1 tbsp. maple syrup
• Chocolate Sheet Cake (see recipe)
• 2 tbsp. bacon drippings
• Frosting:
• Vanilla Frosting (see recipe)
• 1/2 tsp maple extract

Directions

1. For the cake: Cook bacon slices in vegetable oil in a nonstick skillet over medium heat, stirring, until crisp; pour the drippings into a small bowl. Add maple syrup to the skillet and cook until the bacon is coated, 1 to 2 minutes; pour onto a piece of parchment paper and let cool. Make Chocolate Sheet Cake, adding bacon drippings with the vegetable oil.

2. For the frosting: Make Vanilla Frosting, adding maple extract with the vanilla. Frost the cake and top with the bacon.
